As described by Sri Aurobindo, the ultimate aim of existence, at least from our limited perspective, is the Divinization of Matter itself. This is already referred to (as " the light of Adam Kadmon"") in Lurianic Kabbalah (as Tikkun Olam) and by the Tamil Siddha Swami Ramalingam.
Less profound and more transcendentalist (hence not considering the full process of the Divinization of matter itself) accounts can be found in the writings of
Nikolai Fyodorovich Fyodorov and his
Russian Cosmism , the Christian evolutionist Teilhard de Chardin (the Omega Point) and the Transhumanist (materialistic) concept of The Technological Singularity (i.e. the Integral Singularity).
In terms of the relationship between the stages, I would suggest the following, albeit simplistic linear sequence:
| Ego-Shadow | Holism / Postmaterialism |
Gnosis | "Intermediate Zone" | Realization | Higher Realization | Complete Divinization |
(Some other themes)
| Transcendence | Involution/Emanation | Metamorphosis | Evolution | Divinisation |
