Because my own worldview and interests have changed somewhat in the more than a decade the site has been up, there is obviously a difference in emphasis between some of the older and newer pages. My latest attempt at a single\u00a0unified\u00a0explanation of everything, a sort of grand overview of the different aspects of being and the direction and purpose of existence.<\/small><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

says that only physical matter is real.\u00a0Esotericism<\/a>\u00a0asserts in contrast that reality consists of a succession of dimensions of existence, of varying “density”. For the sake of convenience I use the Neoplatonic and Theosophical terminology to refer to these gradations as “planes” of existence, although they can just as easily be called\u00a0dimensions of Consciousness. This is a new section of the site that nevertheless incorporates some of the older material I originally posted in 1998, plus some more recent insights.<\/small><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Chakras are centers or focal-points of consciousness within the\u00a0subtle body, each corresponding to a particular aspect and polarity of being. Rather than a single line, they represent a\u00a0complex arrangement, variously described in different esoteric teachings.<\/small><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Higher knowledge about both our human social surroundings and the natural environment which is the home we share with all other life on this planet. Central to my worldview is the\u00a0empathic\u00a0insight that all sentient beings, regardless of species, should be treated with kindness and respect. This idea goes back to\u00a0Jainism\u00a0(the wheel on the palm symbolises the Jain Vow of\u00a0Ahimsa); to be universally valid, an\u00a0integral\u00a0philosophy or\u00a0participatory ethic\u00a0has to go beyond the\u00a0anthropocentrism\u00a0of mainstream\u00a0secularism\u00a0and religionism.<\/small><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
