Andrew P. Smith has a background in molecular biology, neuroscience and pharmacology. He is author of the e-books Worlds within Worlds and the novel Noosphere II, which are both available online. His website 
SCIENCE VS. SPIRIT is devoted to the question: "how to integrate experiences of higher states of consciousness with the established body of scientific knowledge." He has recently self-published "The Dimensions of Experience: A Natural History of Consciousness" (Xlibris, 2008). He also has numerous articles published on the Integral World website. He is a prominent writer in the Wilber-Integral stream of the Integral paradigm, and proposes an evolutionary cosmology that is similar to Wilber's in some respects (an evolutionary holarchy), but critices in other respects.
