Dawn

The New Creation

Himalyan sunrise

Dawn represents not only the new day but the new Creation, the new Beginning.  Peoples like the ancient Aztecs and Egyptians venerated the sunrise.  They thought the sun died and went to the underworld at night, and was reborn again in the morning.  Scienifically of course this is nonsense, but metaphorically and symbolically it is true, because every dawn is a new beginning.

Sri Aurobindo used the symbol of the Dawn to represent the new creation, the supramental world on Earth
