The following is from a correspondent who requests that her name be kept anonymous. In the light of Wilber's recent actions, it is just one more small piece that fits in a big picture of a very flawed and dysfunctional individual. - MAK
I was invited to be a "founding member" of the Integral Art group in 2002-3, I noticed right away when I met everyone in Boulder, that something was strange. I was invited with three others (secretly) to meet Ken in his loft. He was talking about a mission to send twenty somethings out to create "Integral Music Festivals, Plays and Raves". All of this seemed very absurd to me. I was shocked at how he had surrounded himself with 20 and 21 year olds. As a 32 year old psychotherapist, I was excited to meet the man who had written such astounding books that united eclectic theories into an Integral orientation that I could apply in practice. When I tried to discuss this with him he was disinterested and changed the subject. He seemed more interested in flirting with my friend (who he later emailed and asked out; she said no.) I learned a great lesson that day, to admire the writings of a man is one thing and to expect that man to live his writings is another.
