Just as between the kidney and the navel centres there is a central Centre, so between the adrenal and the solar plexus centres is a third Centre, which is the inner support for the Middle Tan Tien, located in the central channel between the Perineal and the Crown centres.  Interestingly, in Barbara Brennan's system, this would seem to be the location of the Higher Self or Core Star or Core Essence [Light Emerging, pp. xxxx ], which in most other systems is located in the Heart (or less often, the Head) Centre.  It may be that here only one aspect of the Higher Self is being described, that aspect or faculty that regulates the psycho-physical organism and would therefore operate from the Middle Tan Tein, which is in the exact centre of the body.
