The Jungian term "synchronicity" has caused many dubieties due to Jung's own concept of the Universe. It is imagined as if in this, 4-dimensional spatio-temporal universe, there exist "acausal", as it were "horizontal" connections bringing together physical events and their relevance as interpreted in minds/psyches of the participants in the event. However, various "orthodox" traditions ( and their modern, refurbished progeny ) don't have any problem with the so called synchronicity because their view of the Universe is different. I'll try to be as short and as precise as I can.
1. In these traditions, the equation energy=consciousness=universe is valid. Normal waking consciousness is regarded as just a frequency layer ( most common and ordinary ) of the sea of energy/consciousness which is Universe. Spacetime is just a "box", a geometrized structure of universal, all-pervading energy/consciousness field. You and me are just permanent subfields of energy/consciousness in the all-encompassing field which is "world".
2. Various traditions speak of "Mind of God/God as Mind": it's Adam Kadmon of Lurianic Kabbalah, Lahut of the Sufis, Sambhogakaya of Mahayana Buddhists, Shiva of the Tantra, Logos/Nous of Christian Neoplatonists, Saguna Brahman of Vedanta...
3. Synchronicities, according to these traditions, are not "acausal" horizontal connections between two ( or more ) physical/psychical events in 4-dimensional spatiotemporal universe. According to them, "synchronicities" are supercausal manifestations emanating from the Universal Mind ( transcending spatiotemporal restrictions ); as it were, "vertical" signals manifesting in physical reality ( which is not a self-subsistent reality, nor the true reference point ) which is "outer layer" ( metaphorically speaking ) of the entire energy/consciousness field which is Universe, both physical and supraphysical. In short: in a more naive and childish parlance: God gives "signs" according to his will.
