The Food Diagram in the Gurdjieff-Ouspensky
teaching describes the way in which different qualities of energy, the
different
"hydrogens"
are assimilated and transmuted in the human organism, according to the
law of the octave, and how this process of transformation may be extended
and made complete with right work on oneself. The numbers represent
the density or vibration grade of hydrogen (the smaller the number the
more refined the energy), and teh letters the corresponding note of the
musical octave. The three divisions represent head (top), chest (middle),
and belly (bottom).these being at least partially equivalent to Plato's
three-fold division
of teh being, Rudolph
Steiner's three-fold being, and the vertical system of chakras.
The diagram represents the energy transactions in a moment of authentic consciousness.
