In Hinduism, especially Vedanta, Jnana Marga or Jnana Yoga is the path or yoga of discriminative spiritual knowledge (Jnana) leading to realisation of the Self (Atman) and the attainment of the Supreme This teaching is central to many of the Upanishads and to Advaita Vedanta, Pratyabhijna Shaivism, and Mahamudra and Dzogchen Buddhism. It is also the central teaching (albeit watered down) of many Pop Gurus.
Jnana Yoga is one of the three traditional Yogas mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita, which form the basis of Sri Aurobindo's Synthesis of Yoga; and one of the four primary yogas described by Vivekananda.
