Both I Ching and the Vedas are said to contain the totality of all human knowledge.

Both the Vedic Gods and the Hexagrams represent aspects of the human genetic makeup and of life in general.

Both are complex, complicated systems that are hard to decode/understand.

The hexagrams of the I Ching are essentially manifestations of Tao, just like the Gods of the Vedas are manifestations of Brahman. Each hexagram, like each god, has a different personality. Each of the hexagrams and gods, come to the forefront at different times, interplaying with each other.

I believe that the I Ching is the Vedas of China.
