The innovative star-spanning Ioxhu-Jyi Technocracy was noted for its advanced mercantile skills and biospheres. It is thought to have been destroyed by political coruption caused by over-reliance on godtech artifacts, leaving behind only relics.
The militaristic megastructure-dwelling Greater Amot-Irumat Republic was noted for its advanced mechanosynthesis and bio-engineering. It is believed to have been destroyed by hyperintelligent nanoswarms, leaving only remote deep space nanofacturing plants and technological relics.
Miogenic Builders - 15 MYA - This advanced industrious ultratech posthuman aiocracy was noted for its advanced nanofacturing and nanofabrication skills. The cause of its decline is not known; but it is thought that following a number of transcension and vingularity events the ruling ai gradually lost interest in administering the polities, while the various posthuman clades migrated elsewhere, or retreated into virchcosms. The term Miogenic Builders is also applied to a number of successor civilizations, none of which had much if even anything in common with the original Builders, except that they chose to or happened to inhabit the same megastructures
Second Oekumene - ~80 MYA - This galaxy-spanning theocratic (or maitroshkocratic?) civilization was noted for its vast orwoods, dysons, and advanced shipbuilding sciences. The reason for its decline is not known - some have suggested it was destroyed by autowars, or possible nanoswarms; other theories say it was an internal memetic conflict leading to civil war. Apart from the ancient orwood forests and the dysons, there are few artifacts or traces, and all that remain troday are superstitions and myths.
The ancient Orudi Federation (30 MYA) was noted for its advanced resource extraction (jovic- and star-lifting). The Orudi Federation is often identified with the Third Oekumene (which modified and restored some of the First and Second Oekumene dysons and other megastructures), although it is possible the Federation was just a part of the larger Oekumene, or an offshoot. According to one school of paleohistorians the Orudi Federation was destroyed by economic conflict caused by greed among a number of local very powerful factions, but this is only speculationm as very few records survive. Following its collapse all that remained were monuments and a few small colonies.
