Does (or Would) an Upload Have a Soul?

Would an upload (a virtual reality "snapshot" of one's brain state, identical to the original neuro-chemical state of the brain in every way, and including all on's memories etc - certainly possible with advanced nanotechnology) have a "soul" separate from the original person who's Copy e (nongender pronoun) is?

If not, is this an argument in favour of reductionism/physicalism (no such thing as metaphysical entities like soul, spirit etc)

Or is this an argument for Buddhism - Buddhists deny the existence of a single persisting self or spirit (Pali - anatta - "no self"), and say that a person is just a sort of karmic reaction field (like a whirlwind that picks up dust and leaves etc- but the dust and leaves are not the "self" of the whirlwind) that moves along. So each time an upload is made, the original organic person (the "meat" as cyberpunks and transhumanists so crudely say), who is also a karmic vortex, therefore "clones" eir (gender neutral pronoun :-) karmic state - each upload or copy shares the same karma as their Original, but from that point in has free will and can then determine their own karma and future destiny

Or alternatively, if an Upload does have a "soul" or spirit, would that mean each time a copy is made, a new soul incarnates in virtual reality?

Or alternatively, is there just a single higher self for each person but this can have multiple simultaneous incarnations (this is what Seth (Wikipedia link Jane Roberts - channelled communications) says)

Or are all of these explanations partly right and partly wrong?

And how will this determine Wikipedia link Spiritual Evolution [in the sense of development of consciousness and moving beyond limited ego, "spiritual" here is not synonymous with religion! (e.g. an atheist can be spiritual) Also see Theosophy and Anthroposophy, Teilhard de Chardin, Sri Aurobindo, and various essays on Ecognosis ] Will the Spiritual Evolution of the future be very different to that of the present?
