The region of spiritual illumination is mentioned by Theon as the state of light (third in descent from the highest "Materialisms" plane, and can also be equated with the Illuminined spiritual Mind of Sri Aurobindo, and perhaps the 5th or Mahatic Prakriti plane in H. P. Blavatsky's cosmology. Although very elevated from the perspective of mundane human consciousness, it is still diminished relative to the higher Archangelic and Divine planes above it.
Adopting the symbolism of Indian Tantra, one could say that this and the following plane are realised and experienced through the opening of the Sahasrara or Crown Chakra, located above the head (not at the top of the head, as the Indian Tantric tradition asserts. That is a different chakra, the Nirvana Chakra [Shyam Sundar Goswami, Layayoga], or "Sahasrara B", if you will). According to Sri Aurobindo, the Sahasrara, once fully activated, enables one to contact higher strata of cosnciousness, such as the Higher Thinking Mind and above [Letters on Yoga, vol 1, p.366].
