The somewhat quixotic aim of the Ages of Gaia project is to present a history of the Living Earth and all its aspects, including life on Earth, plate tectonics, evolution of the atmosphere, growth of consciousness, etc etc, in several million year intervals where possible, from the formation of the Earth until the present day.  The emphasis of this project is thus on very fine subdivisions, epoches and stages and stratigraphic zones, showing the sort of creatures that lived during each time period, and the world in which they lived.

I also hope at some point to include a history of the development of human civilisation and invention, as well as speculation regarding future possible outcomes.

The whole thing is still extremely incomplete but hopefully it should get there eventually. Then again, maybe it won't. But that's the Web for you ;-)
